The decision to write this blog was at first a bit nerve wracking. I was nervous to say the right thing and to send the right message. I was full of fear and anxiety after the first click of the "publish" button and the "send" button on all of my social and business networks. I was terrified that someone would say something negative about what I'd written, or even worse - I'd get zero "likes" or page views.
But you know what? Just the opposite thing happened. I found myself filling a void of writing, which I'd so dearly missed. Also, I discovered people were really supportive and interested to learn more and continue to read - even if they didn't make a comment.
I'm sharing this with you because I want to encourage you to put yourself out there, no matter what sort of fear or reservations you may have. The great sprinter Gail Devers said:
"Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try."
Challenge yourself by trying something new! Believe that you can succeed if you set your mind to it. Whether it's a new job, a new hobby or a new path to a familiar place...GO FOR IT! You've got everything to gain and nothing to lose.
Last week, I challenged myself even further by starting a private Facebook group called: You Can Do It, I Can Help: The 80/20 Approach to Diet and Exercise:

I created the group to help people achieve a healthier lifestyle and provide them with the right tools to get there, including a grocery list, a 30-day menu, and some simple recipes.
And to my delight, it has been so well received with over 500 members in the first week! It brings me such joy to help others, and diet and exercise is one major way I can do it.
